Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Health & Safety to develop and manage the Health and Safety function for our Professional Services Business Line in the Services Business Area. This role involves working closely with different Business Lines (BLs), Market Areas (MAs), and corporate QEHS teams to establish a strong safety culture within the Professional Services workforce and extend it to all Services BA-related teams.
In this role, you will create a positive and collaborative relationship with Professional Services operations in our different market areas. You will also communicate closely with other stakeholders in different Business Areas, as well as the Service BA's executive team.
This is a global role that can be based at any Metso location. You will report to the Senior Vice President, Professional Services Business Line.
What you do
- Implement Metso's corporate Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and programs in compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and customer site requirements for all Professional Services operations.
- Represent the Services BA in HSE matters with corporate QEHS, Market Areas, and other BLs.
- Support business in investigating incidents and provide corrective and preventive action support to Professional Services teams/operations.
- Continuously define, develop, and maintain global EHS guidelines for Professional Services in cooperation with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain EHS audit methodology and ensure EHS compliance for all Professional Services operations.
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk, EHS compliance, adherence to local law, and the level of safety culture.
- Carry out regular EHS audits and safety culture assessments in Service Centers/PSE operations and assist local management in implementing best practices and high standards.
- Develop Professional Service's EHS awareness, safety campaigns, support requirements, and tools.
- Follow up and report action plans and initiative progress.
- Monthly reporting of global Services BA safety metrics, key risks, and progress updates on corrective actions and HSE-related programs, initiatives, and campaigns.

- Proven experience in a similar role within professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
- Passion towards health and safety and driving a strong safety culture
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work efficiently within a matrix organization, effectively collaborating across multiple departments and reporting lines to achieve goals
