We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager with a main responsibility in planning and executing marketing and communications activities in Middle East & Asia. The preferred location for this position is Singapore, Helsinki or Vaasa.
Your role and responsibilities
- Develop understanding of the local energy markets, competitive landscape, customer segments, key customer accounts and Middle East & Asia business strategy as a foundation for the marketing and communications plans and activities.
- Contribute to the development of the marketing and communications strategy and plans for Middle East & Asia.
- Plan and execute marketing and communications activities in the focus countries in Middle East & Asia, based on strategic business priorities and objectives as well as Middle East & Asia marketing and communications strategy. Activities include for example:
- Contributing to defining value propositions and key messages for customer and other stakeholder segments.
- Planning and executing integrated marketing and communications campaigns leveraging for example targeted digital marketing, PR & media relations, events and thought leadership activities.
- Planning and executing targeted digital marketing campaigns including for example organic social media and paid advertisement.
- Creating high-quality tailored, targeted content for identified target groups. When applicable, utilising existing global materials and concepts and efficiently localising them to fit the focus markets' context.
- Producing and localising marketing and sales assets for different channels.
- Creating thought leadership content together with local thought leaders and supporting local thought leaders with their communication activities.
- Planning and executing proactive media work with local communications agencies.
- Planning and organising Wärtsilä events and participating in key industry conferences.
- Support building brand awareness and positioning Wärtsilä Energy as an energy transition thought leader in the target markets in Middle East & Asia.
- Support market development and sales and create demand for Wärtsilä Energy's solutions by educating target customers and other key stakeholders and demonstrating the value of Wärtsilä solutions and services.
- Propose forecast for your marketing and communications activities and regularly follow up the budget and costs.
- Follow up and measure the performance of your marketing and communications activities based on Energy marketing and communications metrics and KPIs, striving for continuous improvement and excellent results.
- Closely collaborate with key Middle East & Asia business stakeholders, especially Growth & Development and Area Sales, and ensure alignment of your marketing and communications plans and activities with business priorities.
- Manage and guide external partners needed for your local marketing and communications projects, events and media work.
Requirements for the position:
- A master's or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or other relevant field of study.
- A minimum of 5 years working experience in marketing, communications or related work.
- Experience in international B2B marketing, digital marketing, external communications and media relations and working with cross-cultural teams.
- A strong interest in the energy transition and energy sector in Middle East & Asia.
- Creative and curious mindset and willingness to explore new ways of doing things.
- Excellent content creation and storytelling skills and a strong visual eye.
- Ability to convert complex, technical topics into compelling and easy-to-understand messages.
- A demonstrated ability for conceptual thinking and strong planning, project management and prioritisation skills.
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A can-do attitude and drive for results.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience of working in the energy industry.
- Experience in managing external partner agencies and freelancers.
- Interest in and ability to adapt locally relevant marketing tactics, tools and platforms.
- A business-oriented mindset and the willingness to continuously learn and improve.
