Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. The Construction Manager manages team's deployment of large-scale, campus, and/or regionally-based delivery solutions while also socializing with regional leaders.
- Analyzes and recommends delivery options from a technical standpoint based on best practices and trends, supports the development and implementation of all organizational procedures and standards, and ensures they are followed by all team members and vendors.
- Orchestrates work with internal and external partners to resolve complex issues and ensures schedule predictability to contracted milestones and in doing so may significantly impact global construction projects.
- Reviews and provides feedback to the team and regional management regarding resource procurement, allocation, and human capital resources for future upcoming projects.
- Holds their team(s) accountable for on-schedule delivery of projects by ensuring project progress reports including scope, schedule, resources, and budget are provided.
- Manages the day-to-day coordination for meetings and activities with vendors, cost managers, and/or owner/architect/contractors.
- Facilitates collaboration with other internal teams. Reviews safe worksite(s) by adhering to organizational, industry procedures, and global safety policies.
- Establishes, reviews, and communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to drive progress.
- Leads the day-to-day management of vendors. In addition, this role has people management responsibilities including driving employee growth and development, executing projects, and managing performance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND significant related experience OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications:
Significant people management experience.
Solid project management experience.
Noteworthy experience working on data center projects. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND noteworthy related experience OR equivalent experience.
