We are looking for a Summer Trainee to learn Energy Market Analysis and development work in the Market Analysis team at UPM Energy in Helsinki, Finland.

In this role, you will update and communicate short-term power price forecasts and develop the team's processes and tools. We can be flexible with the start and end dates. What you will do
- Update and communicate operative short term price forecast daily using fundamental power market simulation and optimisation software Plexos
- Share your market observations actively supporting the decision making in UPM Energy asset optimisation as well as hedging and trading activities
- Develop market analysis processes, tools and reporting
Who you are
- You are engineering, mathematics, physics or economics student in university
- You have a basic understanding or you are eager to learn about energy markets
- You have a curious, forward-looking and proactive approach
- You have good communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- You have basic skills in data management (Python)
- Experience in fundamental simulation software (Plexos) and visualisation platforms (PowerBI) is seen as an asset
- You have an analytical mindset and the ability to understand the overall situation
