We at Kalmar are looking for a dynamic and driven Head of Service Operations Development to ensure the profitability and efficiency of Kalmar's global maintenance business-spanning service contracts and on-demand maintenance. In this strategic role, you will lead the journey to operational excellence by implementing standard processes, daily management practices, and best-in-class IT tools globally. The target being to ensure the day-to-day execution of our service business can be executed in a profitable way.
You will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that service teams across Kalmar's country organizations can develop their competence and skills in processes, IT tools, and service business acumen. You will also partner closely with finance teams to ensure the stability and performance of the maintenance business.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Secure the profitability of the service contract and on-demand maintenance business through operational excellence.
- Work hands-on and closely with service teams in Kalmar country organizations to deliver profitable growth of the maintenance business through solid daily management.
- Drive business strategy execution through projects and actions aimed at securing the profitable growth of the maintenance business.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and deploy standard processes and best-in-class IT tools for service operations globally.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure ongoing enhancement of all processes.
- Lead change within service teams globally-in close collaboration with frontline organizational leaders.
- Coach and support service and contract managers in a hands-on manner to drive business growth and performance improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within the Service Division and with other business lines and regions.
What you'll need to succeed
Education:
- Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Solid experience in a global maintenance and repair business, with demonstrated strong service business acumen-preferably in heavy equipment, automotive, or other industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully leading change in a global business.
- Strong experience in service business operational excellence, as well as in process and IT system development-with a clear understanding of what "good" looks like in service operations.
- Leadership experience, including competence development.
- Experience with Lean methods and continuous improvement is considered an advantage.

- Willingness to dive deep into service operations to provide support and get "get hands dirty"-ready to go the extra mile to ensure Kalmar's service organization applies best-in-class maintenance execution and management practices.
- Strong understanding of financial processes and logic in the maintenance and repair business.
- Excellent collaboration, networking, and communication skills.
- Structured and action-oriented approach to work.
- Positive leadership style with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Effective in cross-functional collaboration.
- Fluency in English.
